Staff of Taller Portobelo Norte:

Oronike Odeleye is a founding member of Taller Portobelo Norte, acting as the Administrative Director since it's inception. She first attended the Art Colony as a film student at Syracuse University in 2001. She is a creative writer and accessory designer based in Atlanta, GA. She is also a Partner and Account Executive at the graphic design agency Diamond Lounge Creative.

Renée Alexander Craft is a Program Director and UNC liason for Taller Portobelo Norte. She is an artist and critical ethnographer whose research focuses on cultural performances of black resistance in the Americas. A second year postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Communication at the UNC Chapel Hill, Renée is currently completing a manuscript based on six years of ethnographic research in Portobelo entitled "When the Devil Knocks: The Congo Tradition and Politics of Black Identity in Panama" as well as Solar Reiki, a collection of poetry inspired by her experiences in Portobelo.

Torkwase Dyson is a Program Coordinator with TPN. She is also a painter and 4-D artist. Her work in digital video and photography explores the body as a space for performing multiple gender roles, specifically ways in which masculinity is articulated on the feminine body.

Fahamu Pecou has maintained two positions with Taller Portobelo Norte since 2001 as the Program Coordinator and Creative Director. He has spearheaded such projects as the Wet Paint artist talk series and creates all the collateral materials for the Summer Art Colony and ArteFerias. His fine art has been exhibited widely in the US and abroad.
